Presenter - William R. Hogan, M.D.,M.S.
Dr. Hogan is Chief of the Division of Biomedical Informatics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Dr. Hogan is a leader in the areas of systems interoperability, standards for electronic health records and the use of information technology to improve biosurveillance. Prior to joining the University of Arkansas, Dr. Hogan was the Associate Medical Director of Clinical Information Systems for UPMC Health System. He became an Assistant Professor of Medicine in 2002 and Biomedical Informatics in 2006. In 2007 he was promoted to Associate Professor and also began serving as Director of Medical Vocabulary/Ontology Services at UPMC. Dr. Hogan received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and his Master's of Science in Intelligent Systems from the University of Pittsburgh.
